FAQ's

What happens first?

Once you contact me I will arrange an initial 25 minute telephone conversation. Our first session is an opportunity for you to explore what you would like to achieve in therapy and to ask any questions. This consultation enables you to find out more about me and how I may be able to help you.

How much are sessions and how long do they last?

£45 and last around 50 minutes.

What is Counselling?

Counselling can be helpful for a range of mental health issues, and can be tailored to your unique needs and goals. Counselling is a form of talk therapy that involves working with a trained professional to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a safe and supportive environment.

How do I pay for my sessions?

To make payment for your counselling sessions, you will need to pay in advance via bank transfer. For telephone and online sessions, payments also need to be made prior to your scheduled appointment. If you need to cancel your appointment, please do so at least 24 hours beforehand. If you cancel within the 24-hour period, or do not attend without prior notice, the full cost of the session may be charged. I understand that sometimes unforeseen circumstances can arise, so please get in touch if you have any concerns or questions about payment or cancellation.

How long does Therapy last?

This is down to the client, everyone's circumstances are different. Clients can attend as many sessions as they wish and with this, we will monitor each session, it normally helps to attend weekly to build the therapeutic relationship and to allow a natural flow of what needs addressing.

Are my sessions confidential?

Everything that is discussed within your session remains confidential and I abide by the ethical framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). There are exceptional circumstances when confidentiality may need to be broken - this is explained within my contract and privacy statement.

Students & Concessions

I have a limited number of reduced rate appointments available for students.

I offer a number of sessions at a reduced rate to people who may not otherwise be able to afford therapy.
